These are good. I think the cartoon illustrates an important concept. Trust is a mutually built construct, not a game of "think fast." At least that is what I think.
ReplyDeleteMy dad used to tell the story of a man who stood his toddler on a table, held out his arms and said, "Jump to Daddy!" When the kid jumped, Dad dropped his hands and let the kid crash to the floor. "Let that be a lesson to you. Don't trust anybody." An instant and lifelong lesson in distrust, I am sure, and what a sorry life the kid was bound to lead. Barring redemption from his early learning, of course.
Yowza! What a story vanilla. And I so agree about the mutuality of trust..
