Not sure that I can say anything that has not already been said about this excellent movie about an American legend and the man who had the courage to make him a Brooklyn Dodger. A few quotes from the movie that speaks to why I loved it:

ReplyDelete"God's a Methodist"...LOL...you made me laugh this morning KB. I am gonna send this to my Baptist friend. My context is, if you remember me mentioning before, I am still a Methodist but attending a Baptist church for 2 years now.

Oh, absolutely. I read that they really played down the "Christian" part, that it was much stronger. I, too, found it an excellent movie.
ReplyDeleteHaving grown up in the segregated south, I was interested to find that not all prejudice was confined to the south.
Thanks Beverly. I liked the ways that faith was integrated into 42. I remember that NYC in my childhood was different than the south. Even so I remember the "N"word being used pretty often.
