Letters to Juliet | ★★★★★★★
Ann and I caught this romantic comedy on DVD last night and we both enjoyed the experience. The movie is about two women, one young (played by Amanda Seyfried) and the other much older (Vanessa Redgrave stole the show), and their fears and longings around love.
It was a really sweet story that told about the timelessness and nature of love. It was a chick flick for sure and was a bit slow in places but I felt that the message and wholesomeness of the movie trumped those parts.. and the Italian scenery was absolutely stunning.
On a scale of 10 I give this movie ★★★★★★★

I have not seen this movie.
ReplyDeleteHowever, this weekend my wife and I watched two good movies: The Bounty Hunter and The Wronged Man. The Bounty Hunter was funny and didn't tax the brain. It passed some nice time with my wife as we kind of disengaged from the days events.
The Wronged Man however was very very good but very intense. This is the story of a wrongfully convicted man of the rape of a child. He spent 20 years in prison. He was finally released by the efforts of a paralegal who worked on his behalf. It wasn't until DNA became available that actually ruled him out as the rapist. This is a good movie and well done. It is intense at times - not graphic nor violent, no descriptive. The emotions of the one working on the case for so long, the man in prison for a crime he did not commit and the wife and kids who were on the outside.
I enjoyed in the theater, loved the generational respect.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a really good movie. Wanda and I will have to see.
ReplyDeleteI have watched it and I agree with you. I didn't mind the slowness of the movie as it uncovers Claire's (played by Vanessa Redgrave and yes! she stole the show) lost love and Sophie's real love.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation Gregg. I had not heard of that movie. I added it to my Netflix queue.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else seen any movies lately that you might recommend?
