Christian Tattoo?

After posting about suicide I needed to switch topics quick.. and for some reason I remembered my good friend Matt at From The Morning and his great post titled Can a Christian get a Tattoo? Matt's tattoo is featured left. My pastor friend Jim just got a tattoo displaying a cross on his forearm.. and I was wondering.. do Christian's mainly use religious imagery when they tattoo? What do you think? Do the Christians you know (or you yourself) display a religious message in their tattoo(s)? What is the coolest one that you have seen?

    Wow, that tattoo is almost like mine. I think its the same one actually, with a few changes.

    I'm ok with tatoos. I personally don't have any, but I know many sincere brothers & sisters in Christ who do. I don't think that your tatoos has to have a religious message, but I would say it shouldn't be immoral.

    My friend Regina's entire back is covered with a Christian tattoo that is beautiful, wish I could remember the verse, something from Romans.

    She also has some Christian art on her leg and some non-Christian tats as well.

    None of mine are Christian, which I don't regret.

    I do not have a problem with Christian's having tatoos. The first tatoo I ever saw was on my Dad arm. A cross and a rose (very popular in the 40's) I loved to trace my finger over it. Our youngest daugher (37) has three. None are Christian. "Flowers". I put a fake one on one time and freaked out my husband !!! That was a ton of fun.

    There are so many important things in life that are far more important than tatoos.

    I thought the post from your friend was excellent, and a very good and fair discussion of the subject.

    no tattoos here .. in fact I've never known anyone very well who had one.(and never a woman) Over here they're very much associated with particular subcultures, most of the rest of the population never gives them a thought. which shows how much it's a cultural thing -- i shudder at the thought of tatts, but think nothing of having pierced ears!
