I will always have fond memories of Dick Martin and his "Laugh-In" co-host Dan Rowan.
Laugh-In was a great show that introduced us all to some great new talents like Goldie Hawn. Here are some classic lines from the show:
Sock it to me!
Look THAT up in your Funk and Wagnall's
You bet your sweet bippy.
One ringy-dingy. Two ringy-dingies.
Very interesting, not very funny, but very interesting.
This show was prerecorded earlier, because it didn't make much sense to prerecorded it later.
Rowan: Say good night, Dick.
Martin: Good night, Dick!
I loved that show, would watch it with my parents and I remember them wondering if it was a bit too risque for kids :) If they could only see into the future....
ReplyDeleteDick Martin always seemed like the nicest guy. He will be fondly remembered.
It was a truly original show! Even though I was a little kid when it was on and it almost seemed to come from a drug induced haze, I loved everything about Laugh-In. Dick Martin was so funny!
ReplyDeleteI watched Laugh In during the most carefree time of my life and will always treasure the memories.

p.s. Dan and Dick were a great duo. I've enjoyed a book of letters between Dan Rowan and my favorite author, John D. MacDonald.
The book is titled - "A Friendship: The Letters of Dan Rowan and John D. MacDonald 1967-1974"
I wish we still had sitcoms that were funny instead of vulgar.
ReplyDeleteI loved laugh in....and I'm sad to see us lose a great comedian.
