Bob Hope (1903–2003) was born Leslie Townes Hope in Eltham, London, England and became a U.S. citizen in 1920. This Academy Award-winning entertainer appeared in vaudeville, on Broadway, in radio, television, movies, and on numerous USO tours for U.S. military personnel. ReplyDeleteNot sure who I would consider the "Bob Hope" of these days Barbara. Jay Leno has a comedic style like his but doesn't seem to be interested in the type of service to the troops that made Hope so famous.
