The 10 Most Redeeming Films of 2006

What do we mean by "redeeming" films? They're all stories of redemption—sometimes blatantly, sometimes less so. Several of them literally have a character that represents a redeemer; one even includes the Redeemer... Some are "feel-good" movies that leave a smile on your face; some might leave you uncomfortable, even disturbed, and asking, "How should I process that?" But you won't be able to shake it from your memory, either.
Here are the most redeeming movies that CT selected:

I have to admit that I only saw the #1 pick. Have you all seen any of these? Do you have any 2006 movie recommendations?

    How did they not included End of the Spear and One Night with the King? Those two movies are the greatest examples of redemption I saw all year.

    Ditto The End of the Spear for me ... I loved it and thought it was a tremendous film.

    End of the Spear is a 2005 release. Maybe the reviewer just didn't like One Night...? It seems to have rated kind of low with that set.

    I only saw the Nativity from that list too. I want to see #10 and #2 - the rest have either escaped my attention or don't interest me so much.

    I really enjoyed the Fountain, but that's not for all tastes, I suppose. Hard to say that it's "redeeming" accdg. to the criteria put forth.

    I haven't seen off the list, although Tsotsi recently arrived from Netflix and is awaiting a family viewing. I'll let you know how it is.

    End of the Spear officially was released to U.S. theatres on January 20, 2006, according to the Every Tribe Entertainment website. Maybe they aren't going by theatre release? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
