Oath of Office on the Koran?

Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the first Muslim elected to the United States Congress, has announced that he will not take his oath of office on the Bible, but on the bible of Islam, the Koran. Read a conservative's commentary here. I couldn't find a liberal one ... let me know if you find one.

  1. Conservatives can be such dweebs.

I can think of only one level at which swearing into office on a Koran is a bad idea, and that is angering Jesus. Of course, he cannot make that argument, so he comes up a raft of spurious thoughts.

In the chronology of things we have done to anger Jesus, I think this is close to dead last.
